Wood Stone Recipes - Breads
Bread of Life
An appropriate name for a staple that has been baked for centuries on a stone hearth, the Bread of Life returns us to the roots of our Wood Stone equipment.
Chocolate Hazelnut Breakfast Bread
A deliciously decadent breakfast bread, what better way to kick off the day? You can impart your own creative flair with the toppings for this chocolatey bread--substitutions like dried fruits, nutella or pecans also work wonderfully.
Fire Cracker
The Fire Cracker utilizes our traditional Wood Stone dough recipe, but we score it before baking to create a satisfyingly crispy result.
Focaccia
This classic Italian flatbread is stretched into a large, flat round, and then seasoned with savory ingredients.
Sweet Italian Bread
This traditional Tuscan sweet bread unites braised grapes and blue cheese, a marriage of sweet tang and a savory creaminess. When dimpling the stretched dough with your fingers, its good to be a bit aggressive--this allows you to de-gas part of the dough while preserving the gas in the non-dimpled sections, and prevents the dough from puffing into a pita.
Lavash Cracker Bread
On par with other flatbread staples baked throughout the Middle East and Indian subcontinent, lavash is a versatile flatbread of Armenian origin.
Naan Bread
In his travels, one of our chefs encountered a fellow naan maker who said he thought of the tandoor as a mother and naan, a baby.
Pita Bread
Designed to bake in our Dual Burner Bistro 4343 Pita Bread Oven, this Middle Eastern flatbread can be opened horizontally and filled with sandwich fixings, or served warm out of the oven with dips like baba ghanoush or hummus.
